11. Visit a Charming Japanese VillageJapan is a highly urbanized society. Nevertheless, the vast majority of Japan is countryside. 12. Dine at a Fine Japanese Sushi RestaurantThere's a big difference between western and Japanese sushi. Experiencing quality Japanese sushi is highly recommended. Keep in mind that there's a huge difference between cheap and expensive sushi. Once you try the good stuff you'll never want to go back.
13. Sample Fine SakeIt's possible to sample traditional Japanese rice wine (sake) at virtually any restaurant and bar in Japan. It's even available in vending machines. As with sushi — there's a huge difference between the good stuff and cheaper varieties.
14. Visit a Japanese ArcadeThere's no question about it — Japan has the best game arcades in the world.
15. Check Out Harajuku and Yoyogi Park on a SundayHarajuku and Yoyogi Park attract plenty of interesting people on Sunday afternoons. It's a recommended experience.
16. Enjoy a Kabuki PerformanceKabuki is traditional Japanese theatre. Kabuki incorporates dance into performances. It's known for its elaborate costumes and makeup. All roles (male and female) are played by male actors. Although it's unlikely you'll understand the performance completely — it's a recommended cultural experience.
17. Attend a Sumo BoutSumo is a uniquely Japanese sport that's a world onto itself.
18. Go Snowboarding / SkiingJapan has excellent snowboarding and skiing in winter.
19. Have a BBQ or PicnicIt's a Japanese summer tradition to enjoy BBQ parties beside rivers and picnics in parks.
20. Visit the Hiroshima Peace Memorial MuseumThe Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum is widely considered Japan's best museum. It remembers the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki at the end of WWII— tragic events that claimed up to 246,000 lives and threw the world into the nuclear age.
