2006 Tokyo Fashion Report

posted by Asami, Japan Talk, October 11, 2011

The Tokyo Fashion Report for 2006 explores the fascinating fashions of various Japanese youth subcultures.

The best place to track down bold youth fashions is Harajuku near Yoyogi park. Harajuku is most lively on Sunday afternoons when it becomes an exhibit of fashions such as visual kei, gothic lolita, decora, kawaii and cosplay. People put a lot of work into their clothing and are happy to have their pictures taken. Photographers and tourists flock to the area it looks like some kind of amature fashion shoot.
