A look at Shinjuku (Tokyo's biggest neighborhood) between 5 and 6 PM on Saturday night.

Arcade life. There are at least 17 arcades in Shinjuku.

Kitchen workers take a break before the dinner rush. There are about 8,000 restaurants and bars in Shinjuku alone. In Tokyo there are close to 100,000 restaurants and bars.

Touts are everywhere in Shinjuku — mobile phone companies, restaurants, bars and karaoke send them out in droves.
