Gotham City is a fictional city appearing in DC Comics. It's most famous as the home of Batman. It's a dark, massive, mysterious city.

Batman writer Dennis O'Neil said Gotham City is "Manhattan below Fourteenth Street at eleven minutes past midnight on the coldest night in November."

It's not just New York that looks like Gotham City. Tokyo architecture has a Gotham City quality that's undeniably dark.
