What is a Japanese Negi onion?

Negi are also known as Welsh onion, leeks, Japanese bunching onion, spring onion and escallion. They're usually described as tasting like the green onions.

Negi are an important part of Japanese cuisine and are found in every supermarket in Japan. They are also grown in Japan. It's used in a variety of dishes including miso soup, takitori (negima), donburi, ramen, etc.
