Japanese tourists have something of a reputation for taking photos of mundane things such as food in a restaurant or grocery store.

Japan is a unique country. If you compare a Japanese grocery store with one in Honolulu or Paris — there are vast differences. So Japanese people find foreign grocery stores interesting enough to snap a few photos.

Foreigners who live in Japan for a long time may find themselves snapping photos at the grocery store in their home country.
