for girls

well that depends on the type of manga or anime they see or read but it can also be based on the type of person they are and thier favorite thing to do.

That depends

It depends on which manga or anime is popular at the time. If it was Naruto than it would be characters like Sasuke, Sakura and Naruto. If it was Death Note than you would see characters like Light, L, Misa, Matt, Mello, Ryuk, and Near.

Like above

It mostly depends the difficulty of the costume =) L is a fairly easy cosplay to do so he passes by a lot (though it might be something harder if you want to do it really good). Difficult costumes like Sephiroth....well let's not talk about such a costume...shall we?

In the U.S.

In the U.S., there are a LOT of Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke. Death Note's L is quite popular, also.

In Norway

Hey I'm from norway and when we have cosplay meetings 3 times a year or so.. People are coming in very diffenrent costumes.. but L, and a failiure Misa is always around the next corner.. sometimes It's like, 7 who cosplays L. Girls and boys actually..
I'm looking forward to the next meeting.. A group has desided to cosplay everyone from D.gray-man. That should be intresting. :3
